How do I get my entrance wristband?

Just give the name of the person who bought your tickets to the entrance desk.  They’ll mark off the name and give you your GamesCon entrance wristband(s).  Hurrah!

Can I bring kids?

Yes, of course!  We just request that all attendees are respectful of the games/RPGs of other attendees.  Any child under 18 will need to be accompanied at all times (including RPG sessions) by a parent or guardian.

All Pathfinder RPG sessions are family friendly, and welcome players as young as 7.  If you’re a D&D fan, The Sunless Citadel is also ideal for younger players.  The Castle of Lost Souls is suitable for teenager and above.  Into The Night is recommended for late teens and above.

Children aged 5 and under get free entry to GamesCon.

I’m coming on my own.  How will I find other people to play board games with?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered 🙂

  1. Pop along to the Friendship Flag table.
  2. Grab a flag (to indicate that you’re looking for other people to play with).
  3. Grab a board game that you want to play.
  4. Find a place to sit in the open gaming tables area.
  5. People should see your Friendship Flag and ask to join you if they like the look of the game you’ve got.
  6. Once you’ve got enough players for your game, pop your flag back to the Friendship Flag table so that others can use it for their games.

I’ve not played an RPG before, what’s it like?

We’re glad you asked!  We love welcoming new people to the wonderful world of RPGs – they’re so much fun!

If you’ve not played an RPG before, here’s a sneak peek into what they can be like (even Vin Diesel’s a fan!).

Can I bring my own board games?

Of course! And we’ll have plenty of open gamings tables for you to sit and play.

Because GamesCon runs from 9am to 10pm, that’s a solid 13 hours of gaming (lucky for some) which is perfect for getting out those big games like Arkham Horror, Through The Ages or The 7th Continent.

If you’re going to need a lot of table space, let us know and we’ll try to reserve some big tables for you.

Can I bring my pet?

Sadly not.  Even if they do like board games.

Will I need to bring any cash with me?

The GamesCon kitchen accepts cash and cards and will be selling food and drink throughout the day.  Also there will be board games shops that you might want to bring along some cash for in case you see something you like.

Do I need to bring anything else with me?

If you’re signed up to a RPG, then bring your favourite dice and a pen/pencil.  If you don’t have dice/pen/pencil, not to worry – pop along to the information desk, we have some that you can borrow 🙂

Can I bring my own food/drink?

What about alcohol?

GamesCon is an alcohol-free zone (as we don’t have a licence). There are plenty of places within a short walk from GamesCon where you can pop out for a bit and have a drink.

I’m allergic to latex – are your entrance wristbands latex-free?

Yes, they sure are!  Our entrance wristbands are silicone.

Do you need any volunteers?

Always! You can sign up here.

I have special requirements, how do I let you know about this?
